The Adventure of Us

Hello to Fashion

Hello to Fashion! I’m so excited to have this new creative outlet up and running on the blog! And a big thanks to all my lovely friends who have supported and encouraged me to start this!

I believe fashion can have the ability to evoke emotion within ourselves and others. Feels I love are light, playful, typically pastel pieces that brighten up the day. Growing up with a designer as a mother has given me a natural creative outlook on life and I love everything about that!

If you have any questions about anything I’m wearing let me know!

JEANS (I can’t find them online but I saw them in two different stores a few days ago) // SHOES (I got from a boutique but here are similar ones) //  SWEATER // SUNGLASSES //  BAG (this bag is not sold in stores but similar ones here and here )

What is Mormon Conference?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, holds a General Conference two times a year. They are always on the first week of October and the first week of April.

General Conference last for two days consisting of 4 sessions. Both Saturday and Sunday have a morning session which is from 11am – 1pm CST and an afternoon session from 3pm- 5pm CST.

Conference is held at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The center holds up to 21,000 people and, tickets are always free and anyone can attend. General Conference is also broadcasted via satellite to over 7000 church buildings and institutions around the world  And is accessible to watch live on and Mormon Channel.

What will you hear and see during  General Conference

“During the conference, Church leaders speak on a variety of spiritual topics. They address Latter-day Saints as well as government, faith and community representatives and other conference guests. Speakers include the worldwide leader of the Church, President Thomas S. Monson, and his counselors in the First Presidency, the governing body of the Church. Talks are also given by the members of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles and other leaders.

General conference talks vary in length from about 5 to 20 minutes. Topics are not assigned; each speaker chooses his or her own subject matter. Talks usually cover basic gospel principles or address significant issues of the day, with speakers encouraging individuals and families in their efforts to follow Jesus Christ”    –

I invite all my friends who have never watched conference to go to and check it out.I know the messages that are given during Conference are inspired for everyone on earth right now.

I hope this helps explain what General Conference is a little better if you have any questions feel free to reach out to me or Bradley  🙂

Guide to San Francisco

Guide to San Francisco

This post is overdue, but better late than never! My mom, sisters, and best friend Felicia and I had the most amazing girls’ trip in San Francisco! I put together a little guide of the things we did! There is SOOO much to do in the Bay Area, but here are a few of my favorites!

Lands End TrailThere are some really scenic trails with views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge! It is the perfect sunset trail!

Billy Goat Hill and SWING This is a quick drive, and then a 3 minute walk from the street will get you to Billy Goat Hill! However, the swing hit or miss – I would say it is there 70% of the time. But it is definitely worth going even if it is just for the amazing 360 panoramic view of the city by the bay!

Kirby Cove Rope Swing- I’m a sucker for swings, but unfortunately this one is also a hit or miss and we missed, but it was still worth the views and amazing hike!

To get to the swing, drive to Battery Spencer. Parking is not close. You will either have to park at the lot  above or below Battery Spencer. Once you get to Battery Spencer, there are signs on a trail for Battery Spencer and another larger trail that is more of a road. Take the larger trail, which goes down to Kirby Cove Campground! Enjoy amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge and bay! Once at the bottom, just keep following the trail to the ocean and you will find the swing! Its about a 1.1 mile hike down once you start on the large trail!

If you are only going for the swing and don’t want to be disappointed, I would check Yelp and Instagram before going to see if people have posted there recently!

This is our friends little girl Lilly at Kirby Cove Swing, isn’t she adorable?!

Palace of Fine Arts–  This is a beautiful place to picnic and check out and it has a neat story!

Golden Gate Bridge Duh, you have to check out the city’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge! I think the best views are on the bridge and from Battery Spencer Outlook!

The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps-  These color steps are a masterpiece of their own, but they are also encircled around beautiful gardens with striking views of the pacific ocean!

The Painted Ladies– Can you say Full House!!! My all time favorite TV show when I was a little girl, and one of my Childhood dreams came true this day!

Lombard Street This is a must when visiting the city! Although it is pretty scary!

Seward Slides Yes I have a swing and slide obsession! These are the funnest slides tucked away in the cutest little neighborhood in the hills is SF! The drive is stunning and the slides are free and sure to bring out the kid in you!

There you go! Use this guide the next time you visit San Francisco and you are bound to have a blast!!

Here are some photos from our girls trip! Enjoy! XO

Belize Guide

Belize Guide

UnBelizeable!!!!! Belize was our last trip for the summer and I thought after being in South East Asia for a month that it would be a bit of a let down. Boy was I wrong, it was AMAZING! And the waters, I think, were even clearer and more blue than those in SEA.

Chicago Booth has trips every year for first year students called Random Walks. We chose to go on a couples Random Walk. Our whole trip was planned by World Strides and was beautifully put together! We loved it so much. Here are a few must do’s while in Belize:

Snorkeling Excursion Mexico Rocks Marine Reserve-  They took us off the north of Ambergris Caye to a marine reserve, which was incredible. There was so much to see: coral, millions of fish, lobster, sea turtles, sting rays, sharks and my favorite crystal clear blue waters!

Catamaran Tour: This was a full day trip and we had stops at Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley and then stopped at Caye Caulker to explore the island and enjoy lunch. This was a GREAT tour! We snorkeled and saw a sea turtle, and explored a beautiful canyon coral reef and swam with SHARKS!!!

Secret Beach: This is a must see its a great relaxing spot and very pretty!

El Diabio Bar and Aqua Park: We spontaneously stopped here at the end of of Catamaran tour and it was like we were all 8 again! Such a fun Water park in the ocean a must see!!!!

Zip Lining at Jaguar Paw Park: It was fun zip lining!

Tour the Mayan Ruins: Bring water, it is really cool learning about the Mayans but it is HOT outside! I got dehydrated, so water is a must have!

ATM Cave Tour: This could possibly be the one of the coolest things I did all summer! We hiked for about 40 min through the FOREST to a secret cave entrance, how cool is that?!?! The cave is actually an underground river, so we swam into the cave with our guide into this amazing underworld realm- I felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie! We trekked through the cave with only head lamps, being in water 50% of the time and on land for 50% of the time. The main water passage is full of amazing geological formations like sparkling stalactites and flow stones! The whole experience was really incredible, and our guide Alexi did a great job at teaching about the Mayans! I HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Overall we highly recommend going to Belize, as it is a great mix of relaxation and adventure!!!

A Look Into Our New Home

A Look Into Our New Home
HOME UPDATE: Bradley and I have been in Chicago for 3 weeks now, and we absolutely LOVE it here!
We were lucky to have my mom and sister Savannah fly out when we moved in to help us unpack. My mom is an interior designer and is pretty amazing at her job. She and I have slightly different styles, but she helped me create my vision. We went to work and I could not be happier with how everything turned out!
I picked out / found most of what you see, but being slightly hesitant to fully trust my decorating skills, I got approval or disapproval from my lovely mama, Ginger! I really feel like I learned a ton about design from her helping, and it was so fun working together!!!
Now that we are all settled in, we would love to have friends and family come visit!!!
PS: If you would like to know where we got anything, you can comment below — I’m happy to share.

Stores I love:

Wayfair, Overstock, Target, Consignment stores (they have GREAT finds if you take the time to look hard), Amazon, Crate and Barrel, Anthropologie, Z Gallerie, Ikea and Homegoods!
